Hello,

My name is Aaron..this is my second year of collecting sap and making maple syrup, I hail from Chassell, Michigan.

Last year I did about 24 taps, this year I have about 48. I usually dive full on into things so my first year I purchased some custom bottles and designed my labels and came up with a name for it. Short on time I found some amber colored bottles but this year I have clear so you can see the different colors of the syrup.

Here are a few of my bottles, ended up with just under 2 gallons of syrup last year.

So far this year I have one burn, but then the weather turned back to winter and we've been getting dumped with snow.

I'm currently using a friends small evaporator with the rest of his equipment, but just recently purchased my first stainless pan 2'x3'. I came along the forum when I was researching making a evaporator and was looking for small plans.

Hi Aaron! I see you are a graduate of the "Go Big or Go Home" school of sugaring. GREAT job on the label. It would look great on T-shirts and other promo stuff. Welcome to the forum. We have a lot of second year sugarers on here.

"Maple Logger", very funny.

Welcome to Trader.

Great looking labels.

Hope you get tons of syrup this year from those 48 taps.

Welcome Aaron!

I'm down near Port Huron and I'm gonna have to look up Chassell, Michigan because I thought I've been everywhere in Michigan but haven't heard of it!

I'm a 2nd year Sugarer also with custom labels and a Leader Half Pint Evaporator that I bought the end of my 1st year...LOL!

...I looked up Chassell, Michigan... up by Portage lake... probally been through there and didn't realize it! We have a hunting cabin near Gwinn...

Welcome Aaron! That's a great label you designed!

You'll find lots of useful information and encouragement on this site. Sugaring is certainly an addiction! Enjoy your season!:)

Thanks everyone!

If anyone ever needs some help developing a logo, let me know.

Yep Gwinn is not to far from me.. maybe hour or so away. I live in the Houghton area but grew up in Chassell and my dad has 40 acres there.

This week looks like less snow, and higher temps might slowly start to run again!
