Hi,
In the past when I used glass bottles I knew to keep my bottles hot. This year we switched to the plastic bacon jug. Do I just fill these jugs at room temperature with my hot syrup or do I need to somehow get these warm?

You do not need to warm them, but the syrup must be above 180 F when you screw the cap on to prevent mold. I stop filling just when the dial thermometer on my filter canner drops below 185.

Once you fill them and put the lids on tight, turn them upside down for a bit, some lay them on their sides.
