First sugar on snow party coming up and need advise on correct temp for sugar on snow?

I've heard 255 is ths correct?

I'm assuming you mean maple taffy? If so it's 238F.

Stop boiling at the Soft Ball Stage, which is around 235 deg F. That means that when you drop a bit of it into cold water to cool it down, it will form a soft ball.
