Does anyone know if A&A Metal shop up in NW PA makes sap tanks. You know the round bottom kind.

I'm looking for a tank in the 300 gal range that is easy to move around.
I have looked at the ones made by dallaire that Bascoms sells. They are the right price but I do not see any thing in the 300 gal range. They are either the same size that I already have or way to big.
I can find a dairy tank around here that is about 300 gals but they require more than muscle power to move around.
I can't keep the tank located at the spot all year round so it will need to be moved at the end of the season.

According to my 2011 price list they have "Stainless Storage tanks without crating custom built = .80/gallon" this price has probably increased since 2011 but i would take a trip over or send him a letter -

When I had my head tank made by A&A a couple of years ago they did not make round bottom. They make barrels now so maybe they can do a round crimp. My square tank is tilted to they side and back. It drains pretty good. His tanks are unsupported. For a 300 gal tank I'd weld up a steel frame to prevent blowing out the sides.

Does he have one of those community type phone things going at his place or will I have to send a letter?

Dennis,
Keep watching www.craigslist.org and www.pennswoods.net for food grade cage tanks or totes. I can find them around here for $100-$125 routinely and even found some for $60 a piece. Just be careful as to what was in them. Most will still have the label on them. The last ones I found contained a sweetener for protein bars. They can be easily handled with a hand truck.

Does anyone have pictures of A&A tanks?

Are they soldered or welded? If soldered I assume lead free?

Any current prices?

Thanks in advance

Thanks Sweeter Creations. I will give them a call. Do they list larger tanks? I am looking for tanks in the 100 gallon range.

I think the prices the big guys get for tanks is just crazy. If I can save some money but have to build a frame for it I am ok with that.

I had a 115 gal. tank made by A&A. Price was .80 cents per gallon. That was two years ago so price might be a little higher. It is soldered, lead free and has a lid. They do not make round bottom. I tilted it both directions and it drains fine. You do need to make a support for it. I built a wood frame to prevent bowing out. You should be able to find a local Amish tin smith to make it. They use these for water holding tanks in their houses.

I meant to say 1000 gallon tanks were what I am looking for.

The $.80/gal is very appealing.

Just wasn't sure if they made them in that size .

Here is a 500 gallon tank made by A&A. I built the wood frame around it. It actually drains very well.

Hey Heus, what did they charge you for that 500 gal tank?
Did it come with a cover?

A&A storage tanks are still $.80/gal. this is the current price list.. which also states "prices are subject to change july1 2013"
they do make some very large tanks as well, but you will have to make the crating to keep them from bowing.

Thanks for the info guys. I am definatley going to give A&A and Sunrise a call. Which ones made tanks with the frame?
Not that its a big deal to build one.
Sounds like a PA road trip this summer.

A&A makes only the stainless skin. You would have to build a frame.
