I added a small blower fan to my wood stove that i boil down sap on and what a difference.I mounted the fan so it blows in the ash door under the grates. Not only does the fire burn hotter but it also blows the ashes out of the bottom thru the ash door. Now i think i need to modify my stove again to replace the 18" x 28" pan with a 24 x 48 with pre-heater!
Has anyone tried putting a dimmer switch on the blower fan to adjust the air being push in the stove? Would a dimmer switch even work or hold up? The fan works great, but after its going i would like to slow down the fan. Any input would be great. Thanks, Brad

Blower added is great.

I turn my blower off sometimes to let things settle down and I can relax, lol.

My fan is not connected to the arch, it is mounted on a wooden deck and I can pull the fan away a bit or even turn the fan so only half or a quarter of the air is actually blowing into the airbox below the grate.
That works great for me.

Hope that may help you.
