Hi
We are getting nervous. We tapped feb 16 and had two good runs, made 3 gallons so far, 120 taps on tubing. I know it has been too warm, then too cold like today, but, now our taps have been in for a month. Second year operation, made 9 gal of really, really tasty syrup last year. Any advice?

I think you will be alright. Most large producers in the NE tap in Jan and Feb so your holes are fresh compared to most.

I am also getting nervous, and its my second year as well. I am just going to hope for the best, leave the taps in and see how far we can go. I am keeping records and hoping that this is not a typical season either.

I am keeping records and hoping that this is not a typical season either.

I'm beginning to think a "typical season" is a thing of the past. Have not seen one in quite a few years now.
