In using a vacuum pump to harvest the sap how do you know if your hurting the tree by taking out to much sap?

Trees will only give out so much sap, there was a couple threads a while ago about this and it doesn't hurt the trees

I think most people would agree that vacuum will not take too much sap out of a tree. The only way to really harm the tree is by attempting to take more sap by over tapping the tree by putting too many taps in it and then its a matter of whether or not the tree can heal all of the holes. Many people on here run high vacuum 25" or above all the time.
