In using a vacuum pump to harvest the sap how do you know if your taking out to much sap?

I think most people would agree that vacuum will not take too much sap out of a tree. The only way to really harm the tree is by attempting to take more sap by over tapping the tree by putting too many taps in it and then its a matter of whether or not the tree can heal all of the holes. Many people on here run high vacuum 25" or above all the time.
