Can Pam cooking spray be used rather than food grade grease?

Just curious about where the vacuum hooks into the top of the Bernard double releaser,can I use Pam cooking spray to lubricate the union so it pivots easily?

I would highly suggest purchasing a spray can of food grade silicon from Lapierre or some other sugar equipment dealer to lubricate your releaser. I used pam on my releasers and the pam oil discolored
the acrylic tops so that I can hardly see through them any more.
