I have an outdoor wood boiler to heat the house and sugar shack with in floor heat. I was wondering if anybody has ran sap through a 10 plate as a preheater.
I could get the sap to 185-190 using the ten plate heat exchanger. Would it work?

I have an outdoor wood-burning boiler system with a heat exchanger connected to my hot water heater. It heats 50F water to 140F in short order. I don't see why one couldn't rig something similar for sap.

Glen Goodrich uses his to pre heat his syrup prior to bottling.
