How many taps did you have? How much syrup did you make?

Hey spud, I had 141 tap's and made 13 gallons of syrup in 3 weeks. I thought we would have to move due to work so I didn't build my shack or run tubing till 7 weeks ago. I could have pulled the tap's on the few red's I had tapped because I still have 3-4 weeks on the tap holes but the weather isn't too promising and I am too tired, out of firewood and a few other problems. I plan on being prepared for next year. I hope you have a great season and let me know how it goes... Nace

Nace,
My sister lives in Brandonburg, Ky. Is that close to Scottsville?
I visit a guy near her that makes syrup, he is located about halfway between Brandonburg and E-town.

Hey 220, brandenberg is nearly 100 miles north as the crow flies but like many places in West Virginia , you can't get there from here . I'm 20 miles from the Tennessee line, 60 miles north of Nashville , 17 miles south east of bowling green and 5 miles from scottsville. I grew up near shepherdsville which isn't too far from brandenberg. I was about to transfer to the post office in charleston Wva and that's why I didn't even start building or run tubing till the middle of January when I should have been tapping and boiling.

Hey, Nace! I pulled taps on this past Tuesday (12-Feb). I made a little over 3.5G from 18 taps - 9 at my place and 9 at my mom's (1/2 mile north).

It was my first year and it was fun AND educational :).
