Out of sap

First year on evaporator-1/2 pint.When sap ends do Most folks just drain what's in syrup pan and finish it on turkey cooker etc.?

Lee, I have a halfpint as well. That's what I would do. It gives you a chance to clean the pan too. I would be ready for anther run though, It;s not over even down your way!

I boil everything down as shallow as I dare and leave it in the pans. For me, it is impractical to get the 50-100 gallons of partially boiled sap out of the rig and do something with it.

Depends for me. If sap stops because it's too cold then I leave the concentrate in the pans as shallow as I dare get it. I have let that sit for a week before without any issues. If sap stops because it is too warm and will continue to be very warm for a few days or more, then I draw it all off and finish elsewhere.

I should've been more clear-meant out of sap for season.They were starting to run a little today 19' tonight so we'll get more. Easy to tilt 1/2pint pan and drain into soda keg but what do the big rig owners do with what's in pan at end of season?
