The last 2 days here in Monkton we have had some really warm weather and today it has been raining allllllllllllday. An oldtimer told me today that this is the end. all this warm weather and rain will take the frost right out of the ground..... I hope not.......

Good answer! Looks like a big freeze on thursday. Dump out any bad sap from the tanks just before the freeze, wash if necessary and prepare for the next warmup.

I would think that when the frost leaves the ground that the sap would run better. Since the moisture can now move through the soil and the roots are able to soak it up and move it up the tree. So a few days above freezing with some rain is a good thing for when, or if, the thaw freeze cycle hits again.
