The 1st batch I ended up with just over a gallon!

The 2nd Batch is boiling down as I type this but is a smaller batch.

Nice looking stuff Don. I managed to boil for the first time yesterday, and got 3/4 of a gallon of light amber. I boiled 170 gallons but now my pans are sweet. Is the sap still running there?

Looks good, Don. We boiled 12.5 gallons yesterday for 32 oz of syrup.
Today I am working on 44 gallons in hopes of a gallon. Couple of hours to go yet.
Where did you get the bottles from?

Wow Don, Nice for your second year tapping. This is my third year. Right now I have 11 taps. 30 gallons of sap. Haven't boiled yet. Will boil on Friday. I use a woodstove with a hole cut in top for my pan. I can usually boil about 40 gallons a day. 2012 I got a little over two gallons before it turned too hot and spoiled my sap. I am going to tap my remaining trees tomorrow.

Don, if you like syrup with your coffee, try using sap instead of water. I use an old fashion perk coffee pot and its wonderful.

Thanks Everyone!

Man I can actually sell every bottle of this stuff everyone wants some! Gotta make sure I keep enough for my Family this year though!

Pacman... Thanks I'll dig out the camping Perk and make some on it with sap!

Great batch Don,,,way to go.

I love the idea of perked sap to make a pot of java.

Gonna do it, looks like Friday is my next day sap will run.

Great idea Pacman.

Thanks.

Don, sorry that I missed all of the celebrations and congratulations on your first and second batches for 2013. I can see by the date that you created this thread when I was in the middle of a couple of marathon boiling sessions of my own. Who know what other great bits of Mapletrader information I missed out on those days when I was burning the candle at both ends. At least I've had a day or two to try and catch up!

Love your labels and the custom ones too! That's a very nice touch. Year two is shaping up really well isn't it?

Thanks Karen! Yes year two is going great! Ran out of wood, had to buy a cord of wood, just split it with the new log splitter, Boil #4 starts tomorrow whenever I wake up!

I wondered what happened to you the last few days!

Yes, well for a couple of days I looked like something the cat dragged in. I'm now all caught up with my sleep and am fully prepped for the next run of sap. Bring it on trees! I can take it!
