First part of the season I only had 1.5% but last week I was getting 2%. I think it is low this year also.

been fine for me. 2.2-2.3 on average. My gravity taps are 2.5, but they always run sweeter. Look for it to go up with the cold nights in the forecast.

I was just thinking that today. I've boiled 90-95 gallons on 2 different occasion and came up each time with only 5.5qts. I know I have some waste also. Probably more than most since I'm new but I was pretty disappointed I didn't get 2 full gallons each boil.

My sugar content has been 1.5% to 3%. Way too much 1.5% though.

Still to this day don't have a sap hydrometer at the Sugarhouse. One of those things I just never remember when I'm picking up supplies. But based on what I've put into the evap vs what I've pulled off I've seen as good as 42:1 and as bad as 50:1 this year. I usually average about 50:1 from my trees.

In southern NH, I've ranged between 1.2% and 2% so far.

In Poland, Maine my early sap averaged about 1.5-1.7%. The last sap before this warm up was about 2%. I have a mixture of Red and Sugar Maple and no history to go by as this is my second year, but a commercial producer in my general area mentioned that his early sap was not particularly sweet although he didn't mention a percentage.

I had 58:1 on my last 300 gallons, about 1/2 sugar maple and 1/2 reds. Did someone carry water to ALL my buckets? 15 gallons so far. We made 16 in 2012, 31 in 2011, and 12.5 in 2012, with around 150-170 taps each year.
