Half Pint Questions

Hey you Half Pint guys, I'm wondering a few things about your rigs. What's your tap count, evap. rate, yearly production etc? I've got a homemade Fuel Oil Tank and wondering if there would be much of a difference going from that to a Half Pint just to have an actual evaporator. I'm sick of the nasty sugar burn and effort of cleaning steam pans between boils. Maybe I could just put a nice flat pan on my current setup. There's options. Any help is appreciated.

hey there i have run a half pint for around 15 years i have run up to about 50 taps. gets crazy then but i usually run now around 35 taps. i put a small fan in front of the ash door and i get close to 9 gallons per hour burning palletts cut up small, easy to clean very easy, hope this helps any more questions ask jim

I don't clean my pans between boils....I boil twice a week..20-30 gals on wednesday, 50-60 on sunday...I usually leave the syrup pan with something on wednesdays and finish up monday or tuesday. Have you considered just getting a pan vs a whole evaporator?
