Celcius or farenheit on this thermometer?

Im assuming its F.... But fot those in the know can you confirm please? Note im 2 to 2.5 degrees above boiling water so i think sweetening is almost done and time to draw first bit off.7292

Looks like °F. Don't draw off yet unless you prefer to boil on your finisher.

I can't tell you from the pic. Even blown up I can see it doesn't say anything specific about the scale used. Do you have a hydrometer? If it's Celsius, then it's syrup when it's 4 degrees C above the boiling water point. In that case, you're just about there and so should your hydrometer reading.

That is a very neat thermometer and would sure clear up a lot of confusion people have about boiling point ---> syrup temps.

It doesnt say on the thermometer. It is a decent one, you set zero with boiling water and off you go

After thinking about it, I'm going to go with Riley. It's probably F because if it was C then the first marking would be 4 not 7.

All 0-50 adjustable thermometer are in °F. They are made especialy for Maple Syrup

yes, highlighting 7 degrees, and going to 50 has to be F, A celcius would be 4 degrees and far under 50 at top end, maybe 30?

7 is the number you want to hit if calibrated.
