I knew when I woke up this morning and saw the horror frost on the tree's it was going to be a good day! At noon today the buckets were still empty and spiles were still frozen. 2 hours late, they are half full or more! going to be a good day!
Here is a short video of the action!

Taps have just turned on here too Ryan. There are a couple of trees that are still a little sleepy but I expect they'll wake up by tomorrow. Let the fun begin!

well, its 4:30 and most of the pails on the South and S/W sides of the tree's are almost full. Tapped a few of my big 30"+ yard tree's on the N/W side and they have almost nothing...hoping tomorrow the rest of the roots thaw out enought to get the sap moving real good! Weather looks perfect for the next few days :)

Hi Guys,

I was busy boiling all day yesterday so I did not collect last night. It was also my sun's birthday so my patient wife would have killed me!!!! I am going in the next hour. I expect all buckets full so with 80 taps this would give me at least 150 gal. Not looking forward to this heavy work! :) just kidding.
I will let you know later today. So far this year with 5 days of boiling I am up to 6 Gal of liquid gold.
