Great job, Looks great. A little lighter than mine. How's the flavor? Mine has a bit of a nutty taste. Really sweet. Makes my cavity buzz.

Mark, actually, I think it looks something went wrong. You'd better get rid of that batch and start again. I'll give you my mailing address and you can send me that bad batch and I'll dispose of it for you. ;)

Our first batch was kinda buttery...butterscotch like. Whatever it was it was good. Is this a normal flavor for first run of sap?

Most of the syrup that I made last year (my first year) tasted exactly as you just described yours. It was a fabulous, and very unexpected flavour. Don't bury that delicate flavour when you use it by pouring it on something with a strong flavour. Highlight it.

Thanks everyone!! After some reading this morning I'm expecting some niter to settle out of it. When I reheated to bottle I was above 200 degrees. But the taste is awesome, taste like smelling the steam off the evaporator. If that makes sense to you all. The next few days look promising for a good run so its off to the forest to tap a few more!!!!
