Anybody know what kind of light it is that they use in the steam hoods??? And where can i get one besides leader??

I got mine from my local full line electrical supply store. About $35.00. You just need a gasketed, globe covered water proof light, then use std incandescent bulbs, CF curly cue bulbs won't work. Make sure it is made for over 212 degrees.

Not sure on the make of the light - but ours uses T3, 250W bulbs! I just had to replace one the other day. Our steam hood has the light and my cousin's identical unit doesn't. We can't imagine boiling without it!

Over my syrup pan we use the same bulb that you would us in your oven in a water tight encloser seems to work fine.

Can you use one in the flue pan hood ?

We have a regular metal half circle shop light that is screwed onto our hood. It is a regular bulb and we have used it for three years and never even changed the bulb. It is on our front pan though, not on the flue pan.

I have a light just like the one over my syrup pan that i plan on installing in my flue pan hood.I also plan on installing high temp safety glass in one of the doors in my flue pan hood so i can see inside with out opening the door and letting all that cool air in just causing more steam..Worth a try.

The syrup pan hood light came with the evaporator(Leader).I liked the light so when Bruce was here i had him send me up one for my flue pan hood.I have not got the bill yet for the second light so no help there.I wonder if you have a local electric wholesale place close if the would not have one.Water tight ,screw on globe with with a screw on metal cage around the globe.Sorry no pictures.I still may have the boxes around here some place.
