While trying to keep my two 5 month old Chesapeake Bay pups under control Tuesday night, I ran the pan too thin, and burnt it! #$% %^&* After reading posts on here and talking to some locals I got it all cleaned out amd am back in business! Thanks to all! Doug

I've come real close to doing it myself. I've read and heard of the war stories so I watch mine like a hawk....glad to hear your back in business.

You're now officially a "veteran" maple sugar maker! There's only 3 types of sugar makers: Newbies, those of us who have scorched a pan, and those who lie about never scorching a pan!

I did the same thing last weekend. Vinegar water, a little heat, and a fair amount of elbow grease and we are back in business.

Last Friday nite laid down a black streak 24 inches long 2nd channel in from the draw off. Even threw in some wrappage for good measure. UGGGG!!!!!!!! Wet sanding is getting it back to nice and shiney

Glad I learned my lessen early on in my addiction while still using my turkey frier rig. Things change very fast in the pan. :)
