I got bored today and I had to clean my 2 X 6 pans but then I got an idea. I ran a sump pump from my pool to the pre heater and then ran garden hoses from my gravity feed tank back to my swimming pool. I am drawing hot water off the front and letting it feed back to my pool. I figure in a few hours I will have my 16' X 32' In ground pool up about 5 degrees and with only a few wheel barrows full of junk wook from the yard.

LOL, great idea. With enough scrap wood, you can keep using the pool October though February :D

If nothing else, you killed some time, had some fun, and got your pans clean.

Are you able to draw off in batches or steady stream :?:   8O

I know people that ran black water pipe all over their roof and have it tied into the other end of the filter so the pump pushed the water through the pipe and then into the pool, it is a pretty good "free" preheater too. Just add sun.

I run it in a steady stream. The water got boiling at times and was about 180 by the time it got back to the pool. The pans are really clean now and I raised the temp in my pool 7 degrees in 5 hours. Who needs a pool heater !
