Just picked up a new Kleen Flo washer releaser (see pic) and understand these work best at 15 inches. My plan is to 1. Install pump above garage rafters where I have electricity (not sure what pump to use) 2. Run a 1/2" dry line 500 ft down hill to sugarhouse (no electricity) to this wall mounted releaser 3. Attach to existing 3/4 in main line that splits to (2) 3/4" mainlines up hill 450 ft to 115 taps. So far it has been gravity and just needed that much needed vacuum to clear out the laterals and help w/more production. I looked through the forums and see most use Gast 1550 and SP11 pumps, but my concern is the distance? other suggestions? I need to find and buy something quick without busting the bank. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Run at least a 3/4"dryline from your pump to the releaser, 1" would be better. If you're ever going to add a bunch more taps run an 1.5". If you used 1/2" you wouldn't get enough CFM transfer through it. The distance isnt a problem for those pumps but I wouldn't put it in the rafters, they're heavy and you need to be able to check them daily. If your system is fairly leak free with it being that small you could probably even run a little 2 or 3 cfm refridgeration pump for cheap to start.

Thanks Mapleack, great advice. A buddy just sent me a pic of a pump found in a shed. (see pic) He didn't know what it was, but looks exactly like a Gast 1550!! No second port (3/8 square drive) on top. Maybe older model, not sure.

Come to find, it is frozen up. Not sure how difficult it is to rebuild and clean up

Fill it full of kerosene or diesel and let it soak for a week.
1" should be plenty for dry line. I have no problem maintaining 25" on 1000 taps with 1600' of 1.25" dry line.

Very much appreciated guys. I like the diesel/kerosene trickeroo! Just got word, the ole man said take both pumps (1 seized, 1 turns) also any parts and fittings I need. All for free as its not doing him any good and hasn't been used for years. Feels like Xmas may be coming real early this year. I better leave some syrup for ole man Santa!
