Last night I found I had two saddles that were leaking badly one was an older saddle so I simply replaced it with a new one the other is a brand new section of 3/4 main I added last fall. Its the last saddle on the line and I found that the line had rotated some on me putting the hole that the saddle is push into at about 2 oclock. I tighten the saddle and it seem to stop but if it re-occurs what would be best way to plug that hole so that I might drill a new one that would be on the top?

i wrap electrical tape with a peice of main line over the hole. i run 23'' of vac and it doesn't leak. much easer than splicing in a coupling.

I would tape it as well. I make sure it is clean and dry and use new tape each year as in not an old roll that is sitting around.
As long as the hole is near the top it shouldn't leak as the line should not get that full.

Use good electrical tape like: Scotch 33 or 88. It will last as long as your mainline. I run 25" and no problems at all.
