I seen maple guys is selling a airtech air cooled vac pump rated at 8 cfm and 28 in. I just wondered if anyone has used this pump and if it is a reliable pump?i have 400 taps currently on airial gravity flow and want to ad vacuum till next season but I do not want to try to modify a dairy pump. If the airtech is not reliable leader is making a self contained vacuum for small producers rated for 400taps for 1200$. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you

I would stay away from air tech. I bought their L21 oil cooled pump and it would not start in the cold. Then I get it started and it seized up. I spent almost $2000 on that thing and it is nothing more than a paper weight right now. I emailed air tech and they are "doing paperwork" to get my $ back. It did not. The vac advertised when it did work either. 25" is what I got on a closed system. They claim 29. Find a good used piston pump or dairy pump and save your $. An sp 11 or sp 22 would do real nice on 400 taps.
