Rusty taps ???????

I thought that I would get ready to tap and to my sadness I found water in my tap bucket.

any one have a quick way to clean them?

How about just boiling them. It will get rid of the bacteria etc and should clean them up fairly well. Any rust left over won't harm the sap. Just more minerals.

I never tried this myself but a friend of mine put his rusty taps in a small portable cement mixer with some sand blasting sand and let it spin, Kind of like a rock polisher effect. He said they come out looking brand new.

Just clean the rust off and you will be GTG! A green scrubby will work great.
