We got a new nf 270 membrane this year and was wondering what is the highest pressure we can run without passing sugar and what is the highest concentration we can go without passing sugar. Is the pressure or the high concentration more prone to pass sugar?
Thanks Alot, Samuel

My experience with NF270 membranes is anything over 250psi pressure and concentrating much over 10 % will start to pass sugar. Little at first but it escalates from there. I have been successful with low pressure and up to 15% but high pressure+high brix doesn't work
Good luck

the 270 are noted for passing sugar at high concentrate 18/20% you can do a sugar pass test during the season by adding a little food coloring into the wash tank, after your done the soap wash turn your concentrate valve in to bring your pressure up just don't leave it there for very long you should never concentrate water, if your passing sugar you will see it in your permeate water.
Hope this helps. P.S the food coloring will not hurt your membranes so don't worry about that.
