Hi all was wondering what everyone is getting for a sugar content in their sap I don have a sap hydrometer yet so was wondering what people are finding out

Not that it's gonna do you any good, but down here CT the first 2 weeks the sugar% was high. It has dropped off this week. I don't have a sap hydrometer either but I base it on what I've read in the CT posts from guys that do have them.
I know this is totally non scientific but I taste the sap every few days from various trees and based on that the sugar has gone down this week.

My soft and reds were running 1.5% but my roadside sugar maples were reading 2%. Hope this helps. Still waiting on the big run.

the 500 gallons that came off the hillside behind me in the last two days tested out at 2.2%.Last year in was running at around 1.7 %.

started at 2.1% a few days ago, went up to 2.3% yesterday. A little better than last year's start. Got up to 2.6% last year before declining.

We broke down and bought a sap hydro and we are gettin between 2 and 2.5
