Well we use 5/16" Black Tree Saver spouts with Y's and are using tubing to drop into a 5 Gallon Bucket. Do I need to be replacing the Tree saver spouts and Y's every year? I have read about bacteria, No way to get the spouts clean? I have seen new clear spouts, do those last longer. Also do I need to replace the tubing drops every year or can I get a few more years out of the tubing?

I have not seen much but are there metal spouts I can use for continous years, kind of feel like we are going through a lot of plastic!

What most of us end up doing is using stubbies with spout adapters, that way you replace the spout every year.

Is there a simple way of separating the spout from tubing or is it just pure muscle power?

Well you would normally cut the spout off the tubing, but for tree savers they make a tip to put on it so you get new plastic in the tap hole each year, there like 15 cents each. Then you can replace the tubing every 5 or so years to get rid of ALL of the bacteria
