Great to see a boil going.
Looks like Wed. I have a chance of sap running.
Getting some taps into the trees the last couple days, time sucker for sure. I had lots of lines run and drops in, but decided to change/swap all my spiles to the clear disposable new type.
Hope your syrup turns out great Don !!
Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic. Thanks for posting. I enjoyed your videos. I want more narration though. Add some sponsors, cool camera angles and some instruction and we could make maple syrup tv. I would watch that channel.
Seriously though, I was in advertising for 25 years. I was part of commercial productions all over the world. No one is doing a maple syrup channel. It sounds funny and weird but seasonally I would tune in and other people would just out of curiosity. At least we could run some stories on Michigan public TV. Sugar shack productions!

That's a cool idea but it would only run for 2 months of the year!

You're on to something there! I was in England two springs ago and got hooked on a fabulous show called "Lambing Live". It had a very limited number of episodes and covered the spring lambing season with lots of footage of lambs being born and wobbling around on their little legs. I couldn't get enough of it! A similar show covering the fun of sugaring would be VERY interesting. Plus, think of the cross-over markets you'd have! Outdoor TV/ Food TV/ History TV etc etc. Need a production assistant Pweideman? ;)

We just collected...4pm
28 Gallons from the 26 Buckets (2 days worth)
Gravity Tube Line got about 10 gallons today and 10 yesterday. I was right on with my guess from the tube line (20 Gal) and off minus 13 gallons on the buckets (guessed 25 gal)!
So I have 68 Gallons in storage on top of the 65 Gallons I already boiled down...For a to date total of 133 Gallons of Sap from 41 Taps!
Here's Today's Video...

Don,
You numbers do t add up though. 360 gallons of sap, 5 gallons of syrup out of another thread, and 3.25 sugar. Something is off.

Joe, Don's trees have just come off a long freeze. He mentioned in another thread that his sugar content is higher now than it's been so far this year. Let's hope we all benefit with a higher sugar content after our trees thaw out.

Yes Karen is right. All the 360 gallons of Sap is gone and boiled down and the sap I measured last night is same trees but it flowed yesterday for a little while, 10 gallons from my 15 tap tube line and about 5 gallons from Buckets from last week before the freeze...

You said across the pond... by chance is 60 C equal to 38 F ? if so it's the same temp just different metrics...
