Borderline Temps,,,OMG , maybe I can tap !!

I went out back this eve. and did two test holes, both dripped, slow drips, maybe one drip every ten seconds, nothing great but a drip at least. This was at 5 p.m. tonight.

Now, looking at the upcoming weather, I want to tap. I know cold weather is coming after these nice days, but so what !! I want sap and feel I can grab some in these days.

Any harm in tapping this weekend, grabbing 4-5 days of possible sap and then see things shut down again.

If I were I would go ahead and tap. Looks like a few nice days for you. Friday is March 1 I dont know anything about a typical season for your area but I would think your tap holes will stay open all season from here. 31' is pretty good temperature for tapping you shouldn't have to worry about splitting the bark or anything nice light write taps listening for the thunk. Toady is the first day I have gotten sap I have been tapped for 2 weeks.
