Gas Fire Finishing Evaporators?

Picked up the new Leader catalog at the NYS Farm Show last weekend. I noticed they have a small (16" X 34") propane finishing evaporator for around $600. I am wondering if one of these would work for me instead of the open pit, SS kettle that I use now. It takes me aboput 12 hrs to finish a gallon of syrup. Does anyone know what the evaporation rate of the small gas finisher is?

16in x 34in = 544 in2, 544 in2/144 = 3.8 ft2. I would guess you could expect an evaporation rate around 4 gallons per hour.
