We are only a few hours away from getting hit with another wind/rain/snow storm. The temperature will determine a lot of what we end up receiving.
I've only got 10 buckets and had great success last year with putting plastic bags over the top of my buckets and lids to keep out the snow and rain. I slip a plastic grocery bag over the top and hold down each of the bag handles with duct tape attached to the bucket. The wind is gusting pretty fiercely right now, but if the wind dies down and the temps stay high I might get a few drips. With the bag over my bucket no rain or snow will dilute the sap in my buckets.
I wouldn't recommend this if you've got lots and lots of buckets, but it's easy if you are small-time like me. My buckets are now ready to face whatever gets thrown at them tonight and tomorrow.
