I just got my new pan and looks like fedex put a dent in one of the edges....is this going to affect my seal? it's amidships, right at the corner angle of the bottom and side

Thats strange mine came dented as well. Being a past sheetmetal worker I was able to take care of it myself. Do you have a deadblow hammer? That and a solid chunk of steel 1/2 in wide x 4" long and you can work that sucker out no problem. You can't even tell I ironed mine out.

given the cost of this pan (a Phaneuf), I am mulling sending it back for something undented. Thoughts?

Is that a flue pan, or a divided flat pan? That sounds cheap for a flue pan. May have to check them out if I can get a 2X4 flue pan for under $500.00.

If that's for a flue pan I'm going to be disappointed in the one I just bought. I'm a little jealous that you got a 22ga. Mine is 18ga 2x4' divided pan with a pre heater for 475 including shipping. It is arriving Friday.

I too have a wegner 2x4 divided pan, and it too came with a dent. You could tell it was dropped during shipping on one corner. Hammered it out pretty easily, and the pan is very well made. Wegner seems to make some nice stuff, and good to deal with.
I think I paid around $600 for the 2x4 and a 12 x 24 pre-heater. Glad I got it, he does nice work.
