sap taste

I tasted some sap today coming out of my mainline and it had a plastic taste to it...all my tubing is new and was bought from a sugar supply dealer..is that sap still good??

There was just a thread on this topic. They say it has no effect on syrup taste. One guy said it still tastes like plastic after 5 years.
