I need vacuum!!!!

basically i started with a pipe dream and now have about 600 tapped, gravity. interested in introducing vac. asap. looking at 4-5000 taps seeking recommendations on pump type, size, power is available and were looking at approx. 25 acres of steep hillside. would like to purchase this year and set up immediatly if possible. any used pumps meeting such criteria would be appreciated.

I would buy nothing but a two stage pump. I would really consider buying new if I was you. I like the oil cooled pumps but the water cooled pumps are great also. If you plan on having 5000 taps then I would buy a 7.5 HP or a 10 HP pump with a minimum of 75 CFMs. The pump I have is a 10 HP two stage Kenney pump that gives me 29 inches at the sugar house and 27-28 in the woods. With 5000 taps the pump will more then pay for itself the first year. Once you have high vacuum you will never go back to gravity again.:) Good luck to you.
