I'm third year, small scale, just the trees in my yard. Sure this a another stupid question but Boiled on propane but would like to go to wood in my fire pit. Can I use decorative red brick(have lots doing nothing) with grates to make a temporary arch to hold two 12x18 blue enamal pans with handles. With modefications could I pull this off? I know most seem to use cinder block from looking around . Will red brick & enamel pans hold up?

bluefinn - As a Backyarder making Maple Syrup for Your own use - I say go for it. Most of us have started with Cement Block Arches - Because it was cheap and quick compared to a lot of other things. LOL - Not many folks have a pile of brick sitting around - doing nothing. The Enamel Pans are ok as long as they are not chipped and rusting. Will this hold up? Should get You through a season or two - till You come up with something better - LOL - and you will. Have Fun and make some good Maple Syrup. ---Mike---
