Newbie with lines question. I am out of the normal leader health spouts but can get cv spouts locally. Can I use cv spouts with no vacuum? What is the impact? I am going to use them on laterals that have decent pitch going to a 3/4 mainline. Thanks!

yes you can use them, I put them in a section 2 years ago that I had plan to put vacuum on and never did. I did not notice a drop in production with the cv and no vac.

Hope this helps

I have 150 cv with stubbies , first year with them . We had a cold week but they still ran a little . My open buckets did zip in last 4 days

JCB,

What do you think was the cause of the drop in production? I'm struggling with the decision to use CV's on a short (36 tap) gravity line. I have my theory but I'm looking for others. Thanks in advance.

Brad....I think you misread JCB's reply. He said:

I did not notice a drop in production with the cv and no vac. Emphasis is mine.

Black spouts will often run a little better than polycarbonate or metal spouts on cold days in the early season if there is some sun.

Sorry folks. Reading too fast without enough coffee. Thanks Doc for this and the email reply.
