Just saw this company in our new issue of Maple News. Westmoor Limited of Sherril, N.Y. we're looking at the smallest one gas powered. Anyone tried one of these. Price is around $2,400.00

You can buy or build a great pump for that price. Example. I just built a 3 cylinder 28hp diesel engine running a 5kw generator and a 30cfm sihi vacuum pump for about the same price. The motor runs at 2200 rpm, generator at 1800 and vac at 1750. The generator runs the lighting and the 1.5hp goulds jet pump on the electric releaser. The motor we picked up used with less than 100 hours for $1000, the generator is an ST 5kw generator head $500 shipped (heavy duty 1.5" shaft weighing almost 200 lbs ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/ST-5KW-Generator-Head-Single-Phase-120-240-Volt-/181087652999?pt=BI_Generators&hash=item2a29aa4c87 ) the goulds pump we picked up for $450 , We had the sihi pump as we had a replacement on hand but here is a HUGE sihi pump for $250 http://www.ebay.com/itm/SIHI-VACUUM-PUMP-LPHE-40106-USED-/200874144371?pt=BI_Pumps&hash=item2ec5083273.
If your looking for a little setup (couple hundred taps) you can do it even cheaper. I bought a sp11 for $100 a couple years ago and put on a $100 harbor freight 6.5 hp gas motor on it. It runs just a little above idle and makes 22" of vacuum. I have run this for 2 seasons now and had no problems (except a couple broken alum pullies on the motor, i have changed this to a steel pulley now).
