When to tap?

Thinking of tapping this weekend if the weather/temps are favorable. My woods have alot of shade (hemlocks) so hoping for those 40 degree + days with sun. Wish we had a little more snow on the ground though since I lug sap by sled. Still working on cutting wood roads thru the forest for my Kubota.

All in this sat for sure no matter what. I have the same thing, allot of hemlock and white pine but definatly tapping this saturday

I started today in the northern adirondacks I had to break trail with my atv for a mile.It took around 2 hours but my son and I made it. Started tapping and the first battery went dead,so I pulled the other out of my pocket and that was dead too. The oldest boys must have used them and didnt charge them. Only got 10 in. We will go up tomorrow and finish,only 390 left to go.

adk1, I went up today and taped about 100,have 300 more to go. both bateries worked good.I only needed one. we stoped because of the wind, it must have been 20 mile anhour wind on the mountain today. we should finish up tomorrow.

Yeah wind was bad today. I am tapping Friday if I can get the day orr or first thing sat.

Vern I am all tapped. Got alittle out of my house sapsack trees yesterday but nothing to write home about. tubing didnt run, not enough sun yesterday and alittle 2 cold up here. doubt I will get anything for a run till Monday. MTn road didnt get anything either.
