Getting the machine ready!!!

Just getting too exited about the season to get started so today I got my gear ready in the backyard.
Installed a new smoke stack on the old drum and cleaned the other 2 wood stove. Split some wood to keep dry as tarter wood and cleaned all my sap buckets and spills. 80 taps this year. Got my brand new evaporator outside and set it on the drum. Now wait....
looks good for taping on Saturday this weekend as temps are going to be more spring like.
I am sure I am not the only one waiting! Good season to all.

yup had my new to me evaporator fired up with water today to get it tested and ready! going to put my taps in on Saturday.

I must be checking the weather forecasts 50 times a day. I've had my buckets out for two weeks just in case, but not a drop. Reading on this forum about all of the great sap runs south of the border is making me CRAZY! This weekend might be it! Fingers crossed. :)
