First Syrup of 2013 - Family Video

Hello All, I wanted to share a video of of our first Boil of the 2013 season. This is our third season of tapping backyard trees in Dearborn, Michigan. To my delight, it has become a family affair and this year my 3 year old twin boys were involved in every step of the process. This is also my first boil on my new 55 gallon drum evaporator that I built this winter. I hope you enjoy:)

Ya Paddock you got it right. As a Red Sox fan hear in NH we all ways said wait till next year. and the years went by and bang I was fiffty years old. When I boil I try and not complain how long it take to make syrup. It comes onece a year. And cant wait till next year and bang the years are gone. God job Paddock

Thanks for all the positive feedback. Good ear on the song, Don. Yes, that is sweet child of mine as played by Scott D. Davis. He has an album called Rockfluence that covers a bunch of heavy metal and rock songs by Metallica, GnR, Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin, etc, on the piano. I've never really been into classical music, but I think It's pretty sweet.

Excellent video! Our youngest was 3 when we started into maple. Your kids will always remember this time spent with them.
