I have a 4" XLE and an 8" XLE membrane on my machine. Both are new this year. It is set up in series with the 4" first. I do have re-circulation, but it comes off the bottom of the 8" membrane.

The 4" has a yellow tape wrap on it, and when I spoke to Joe at Atlantic RO he advised me not to run my RO at higher than around 200 psi or I might risk blowing the yellow wrap off.

So my question is do other folks have XLEs with yellow tape on them, and if so, what pressures are you running?

My RO can run up to 600 psi, though most of the time when I had NF270s in it, I only ran around 275-300 psi.

I had some a couple years ago and ran 400psi and the tape was starting to come off after a couple years. you should listen to Joe.

Joe joe joe. That's funny because I bought the same 4" membrane and before I bought it I specifically asked joe the same question. He told me it was good to 500 psi. I assumed it had a fiberglass spun shell as my old nf 270s did. very surprised to see yellow paper when they were delivered. With that said I generally run mine at 250 and this is the second season. I did not notice any yellow unraveling when i put them in this year. Even though more expensive, I will not buy a membrane from anyone other than a maple supply house in the future.

Good luck Eric

Eric, I have the cut sheet on these from Dow, and they're rated for 600 psi just like the fiberglass wrapped ones. I spoke with the Dow rep's at Lapierre's open house last spring, and I believe I asked them about this and I think they confirmed the 600 psi. Did you get the adapter part figured out?

Josh- yes we just drilled out the one end that needed it. The other end was a female adapter and since it went on the outside we left the inside hexagon intact.

thanks for the replies- think I might try 250psi.

I've had mine over 400 psi without trouble.

Eric-

I also had to trim my bottom post a half inch because the post is a tad long and burns while riding on the pump. Tip from Russ, not sure if they fit your machine or not

Eric I run my XLE at 250psi and haven't had any problems with it. I read somewhere and Josh just confirmed it that the XLE will handle 600psi. I have run it just below 500psi for short periods of time and the tape is still intact on my membrane.

I run mine at about 450 and have not had a problem. This Will be my third year.

My RO can run up to 600 psi, though most of the time when I had NF270s in it, I only ran around 275-300 psi.

I ran a pair of XLE4040's at 300 and when I took them out at the end of the year there was a 1 foot long ribbon of tape
coming out the discharge port of both of them. I don't know if it was the pressure or the re-circ flow rate that make it come
unwound. All the rest of the tape was fine. Just the last bit by the discharge that came unstuck.

I also read the Dow spec that they are good to 600 psi and have no reason to doubt that. But I don't think most RO machines have the re-circulation that good maple rigs have.
