I just built a hood, and am in the process of building a preheater. My pan is 28" wide by 7' and am putting dividers in for a 2' syrup pan. So far I have 5 runs of 4 ' 3/4 copper and am wondering if I need more. Been doing a few modifications and can't wait to try them out, looks like at least a couple weeks yet.

I just finished my preheater. It has 6 runs of 1/2" copper. My pan is only 24" and the drip tray was 19" wide. I kept the pipes as close as possible. Still waiting to try it out.

What did you use for drip tray? I was wondering if I could use aluminum coil stock and bend it on brake. Did you put one solid tray or individual ones for each run?
