I have an old osmonics RO. It goes through about 300 gph of sap. I need to rig up a wash tank for it. Can anyone tell me what size tank I need? The machine can do 600 gph or better if I ever fill the other vessels with membranes. Thanks.

Just wanted get this thread back on top of the pile. What size wash tank do you have and the size of your ro?

I believe that my wash tank is 15 gallons and my RO is a Lapierre 150 turbo. I think that Lapierre uses the same tank for the 600gph RO too.

Thanks Russ. I did find the round wash tanks in the Lapierre catalog. They list 3 sizes there: 16, 29 & 37 gal. They don't tell which ro they are for. The 16 gal is 15" dia. x 24 tall, The 29 gal is 15" dia. x 35 tall, The 37 gal is 19" dia.x 36 tall. I'll probably shoot for the middle....around 30 gal. That is unless someone advises me differently. Does a wash tank have to be stainless or will a 35 gal leg tank from Tractor Supply work? I have one of those on hand that I could use.

Lapierre puts the 29 gal tank with their 600gph RO's. The problem with a plastic leg tank would be the small opening, you need to be able to stir it to mix in wash soap. I don't see why you couldnt cut the top off a plastic barrel and put bulk head fittings in it to save money.

My 250 has a 15 gal tank.

I use a 20 gal poly tank for my 260 gph RO. I think this is a place you can save money. I see no reason at all why you need to purchase an RO manufactured rinse tank. Any clean tank should do.

The D&G family of ROs with built in wash tanks use a plastic tank and I believe that CDL does too. I don't know if you have to worry about if it is food grade or not. I would think not.
