the r.o is getting new membranes and I would like to add more membranes..we were at around 3200 so another 800 should not be that bad :-) . Trucking the sap will be a little tricky the transportation department is in pretty rough shape' but we should be able to figure it out. Good luck to everyone!

Sicker than a dog yesterday...got the kids bug and was out of commission. That is frustrating! We got the pump and releaser set up the other day at sanborns and had the vac pulling 17" got the tank washed out. The sap was running a little..Courtney went back to sanborns yesterday and got the vac up to 23" got 400 gal from ten to 6...very happy sanborns is dialed in..off to rt.11 today..its almost all tapped. Need to get vac going and cut in a new mainline..good day for it. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

I need to remember that everything maple takes longer than one thinks it will...we got the pump.releaser set up at rte.11..got the new maineline cut into the existing lateral lines..had the system pulling 23" until I connected the 2 lateral lines that run thru the middle of the huge briare pacth way out back where the snow is deep...dropped the whole system down to 10" ....well it was 7pm by the time I was out of the woods and I just did not have the get up and go to fix last nite. Will be there this am...sap ran very well..mabey close to three quarters of a gallon per tap..hope to get rate.11 tight today then off to Hill(the big one with real deep snow):-) Sugar house still a major mess...we will get it!

Got rte 11 pretty tight..pulling 20 inches..then we were off to hill..We were spoiled working in the woods around the house..snow was not too bad...hill is a whole different world! Its not really like snow up there,,more like wet kneen deep concrete..slush...we did manage the get the pump-releaser going and 200 more tapped by 6:30..happy with that...we have some black dimiond terrain to tap today''a long way out and very steep...and my daughter has a hockey tournament....hmmm-stressed for time..but that will be a nice break..got to get Marvin put back together and the s.h. cleaned up..order some membranes...would like to be tapped,tight,and boiling by Tuesday..time will tell GIVE IT HELL!

Took a while to get my pumps squared away an happy yesterday..oil changes and such..ran well yesterday.the releaser at eleven and sanborns were dumping every 2 min...the releaser in hill was dumping every 3 min-with 5 inches of mercury!!!.got up to hill and got one section all tapped...I love tapping with the vacuum on....makes my heart pound hearing all those leaks...hard to stay focused tapping...I'm thinking about getting the 800? In hill that are tapped tight and focusing getting the s.h. ready to boil...just leaving the valves that go to the untapped sections of the woods closed for a bit...ray came over last night an we worked on Marvin for a couple of hours..almost ready to put back together..I think I could be ready to boil in 5 solid hours..happy with that.....the goddess seems happy and will be here for an extended period....

That's the way that Matt does it. He gets a section of the woods tapped and leaks fixed then he moves on to the next section as time allows. I don't think he has even been down to check out his woods yet this season. Too many other things on his plate right now to add the additional problems.

We figure were are just gonna go for it and get hill all tapped ..made serious tracks yesterday.hope to finish today..welder comming tonight t finish up arch..had my daughter three quarters of a mile out on snowshoes helping yesterday..steep ground to boot..big fun.

Hills tapped. Welder never showed up..guess I'll get that arch bone up myself this morning..Courtney is gonna be leak fixing in hill and I'm gonna work in the sugar house getting ready to boil real soon. Pearly worked in the sugar house yesterday getting it cleaned up..ray should be showing up today for the season...membranes are on the way..exciting stuff!

Got the arch fixed,pans on,pearl went to bascoms and got everything we were lacking..said the place was a madhouse..I got the vac back to 23 at sanborns yesterday and hquled 3 loads(325gal) home..ray showed up and worked around the sugar house..grabbed a load of sap..could not believe how the sap ran for an overcast day yesterday. We are gonna try to boil and change membranes today...vac. At rte.11 went from 16 to 23 by itself...not sure how that works..gonna look into that today. Very busy and very happy! Courtney got the vac in hill from 6 to 21 ( huge area) hill is just nearly starting to run..so much colder up there...

I see that I'm not the only one surprised by the run yesterday. It ran pretty good today too but as good as yesterday. Still amazing concidering the cold wind, low temps and clouds.

Just takes forever to get anything done! Got marvin together and billed raw sap so we would have a little tank room. One of my nicer tanks sprung a leak with 1 thousand gallons in it...brought home 1200 gal. Sap..not sure what we have left..made 10? Gal of med? Looked at the weather..better get that r.o going! I'll see how we make out tommrow..changing the feed line to the r.o. from the tanks to 2 inch line..and I am pretty sure I remember how to put the r.o back together..got the membranes in the vessels.got an AG. sticker on big sexier.think we can get 3 five hundred twenty five gallon tanks on it/.from the looks of my forcast and my limited tank space getting rolling tommrow would be helpful..Let's fill some barrles!!!

Well that was a decent run..got the r.o going at ten p.m..started boiling at one p.m.. Have900 gal. Of concentrate,4%? Blew a fitting on the r.o..made a barrel of a lite medium. Should run tommrow

Well the r.o is down. Lost the high pressure pump ..boiling raw sap . made 150 gal. Last few nights little sleep

Parker how is it filtering?had to shut down can get thru presses made two hundred gals non filtered med amber. had syrup every where. was drawing 70 gals an hour. i thru away a lot of sap but was still still cloudy.when i started it still would go thu bag filters well. today sap clear and not changed any filters. hope syrup will filter today. only making 18 % this am.

I don't know about how it is for Parker but the syrup has been filtering good here. All of the sap has been nice and clear too.

The previous batches filtered like normal syrup but the last 40 we made last night only built 10 LDS pressure on the 7 inch press. Sap also filtering fine..little niter..up to 197 gal . grade dropped to dark a last night.finished boiling at midnight then went to rte.11 to fix vac.reg. and releaser..just pouring rain but the sap was still running with no freeze. We really need that r.o. blowing thru the wood! Good luck!.

Parker,Courtney, ray and crew has been full on. Got their RO back running again and think the report was they made 77 gallons on Monday. No buds, peepers or salamanders around here...
