Well after much procrastinating we did it! The kids and I put 51 taps out today. We got about 2hrs behind schedule due to the wrong drill bit size but we made it! Now once we do a few collection trips we will decide on if we should put more out. It was very fun and exciting, can't wait to boil now!

None yet! I'm building one out of an old 330gallon oil tank. I want a 2x4 pan but probably this year going to just use some restaurant steam pans. 6841684268436844

Excellent!

You won't remember every spring --- but this one will never be forgotten.

Great way to get the kids outside. Enjoy it!

And Sunday's right... you won't remember every spring... though most of us don't want to remember last spring!

Good luck and have fun.

Ahh, it's windy out there! Just came back from first check. Brought back about a gallon from one of my buckets, rest where too solid to get but I say about 5 gallons total which I expected due to weather. But more importantly ALL my buckets where still there, guess I wired the right ones!! This is going to be lots of fun!

Just finished wiring all my buckets to trees. On today's check I had 1 Mia that I found later and a few knocked over. I figured before the warmup tomorrow I better tie them up, don't wanna miss my first big collection :-) although it will have to wait till Wednesday unless the mrs gets it.

I run bungees around my buckets so they don't go blowing all over the place. Good luck to you.

I thought of bungees but then a (cheap) I mean fiscally responsible friend of mine said "I use mechanics wire, it's much cheaper"! So I followed his lead, might make for a PITA collecting but we will see.

I made light duty bungees from a piece of st ring and a heavy rubber band.
