I have an Oil Tank that I'm setting up as an Evaporator like many on here. I'm putting it on it's side and it will be on some cinder blocks. Not sure if I can setup a ramp going towards the smoke stack or not. Kind of still up in the air as to set it up. I'm looking to see if anyone has any pictures of the inside of their Oil Tank Evaporators that are setup this same way. Any help would be appreciated.

At one point when the fire was right, gentle breeze and 27 degree air temp I was getting 16 GPH evap rate. the 6' stack was not quite enough height added another 3 ft. draws good. I made the inside ramp with sheet metal then covered with 1" ceramic I got from McMaster Carr, Made a big difference on the outside temp of the oil drum. Good Luck

Here's what we did. I framed it up and just laid fire brick to form a "ramp" to force the heat up.
