GOT the BUG!!

Well I got the maple bug for sure now! Just took a lease on 100 acres of trees.My wife thinks I'm totally crazy! All on a hill side 15 miles from the house(and the rig). Land owner called me and asked if I was interested. Have a 5 year lease with a 5 year automatic renewal. will pay 25 cents per tap payable on April first of each year. Amount will depend on how many taps we have that year. We hope to put 250 first year. and grow from there, could conceivablity have 4000 by the time we are done! Don't know if I want to be that big.
Going to put first 350(from '06) on vacumn
Also called my dealer and ordered a steam-away( got to get rid of the extra sap some how)

Congratulations Jim,

That is pretty exciting stuff. You would have kicked yourself in the arse if you hadn't jumped on the opportunity. I don't know about down there but nice orchards gravity run to a roadside close to your sugar house are hard to come by most places.
