Sure seems like we're off to a stellar year! I only have 14 taps in so far and in 2 1/2 days I've collected 34 gallons and they are flowing heavy as I write. Forget the milk jugs for collecting. I had to replace them with sap saks due to all the overflow I've lost. Best of luck to all this season. (Not that'll we'll need it)-Greg

Agreed -- 8 gallons of sap Tuesday night from 16 taps and then a whopping 18 1/2 gallons last night from 24 taps. Sugar content still averaging right around 2.8%. So far a good start...

Oh ya the sap is flowing here too I just collected 225 gallons from 170 taps and many of my buckets were over flowing. I haven't seen runs like this in serveral years. I just told my wife "the maple widow" I need a bigger evaporator ha ha.

It's crazy. 30 gallons off of 19 taps this morning. I have 12 hours of boiling ahead of me this weekend if the trees stopped producing right now.

30 gallons of sap from 27 taps and some still have sap in them! Didn't plan on this much I may have to use the bathtub as storage! Definatly need an evaporator instead of a wood stove w\flat pan, Jim

Maple widows fur sure!

My wife was making plans for Saturday and I heard her mention to our daughter that "daddy" won't be around this weekend.

Not her favorite time of year
Buckets, Barrels, Snowshoes and Filters lying around
Mud tracks thru the house, smokey clothes abound.
Sticky doorknobs Sticky Floors, No husband to be found.
Not her favorite time of the year!

Valley -- sounds like your widow has conceded defeat! Our anniversary is Sunday and my widow is expecting to go out to dinner...if these runs continue, may need some suggestions on how to break the bad news to her...

maybe all the melting snow is running right up the tree. The ground is very wet right now. Hence the heavy flow. Tapping 15 trees tomorrow. tapped 2 today and they were running
